Elan Power, an ambitious leap by a famous sailboat builder (Elan Yachts | uncompromising in every sense (elan-yachts.com)) into the world of motor yachts. The production was a brownfield investment, geographically far from the know-how centre. The first boats were of poor quality, but then grew rapidly in quality and sales – until the crisis of 2008. Currently this motor yachts are known as Focus Yachts (Focus Motor Yachts (focus-motoryachts.com))

The third Elan Power, designed by Tony Castro. Another excellent experience, this time regarding the importance of a weight study and the details that affect the hydrodynamics of planning hulls with tunnels.

The project management from the beginning to the end. In addition to the DETAIL DESIGN and the PRODUCTION SUPPORT, we did a part of the BASIC DESIGN. Our job included the development of all the serial production tools, the equipment procurement, the cooperation the special equipment suppliers. The V-drive version of the ship had problems with cavitation and performance. We rebuilt the tunnels, but all we got was new knowledge and experience. Eventually we designed a version with pod drives which solved the problems.
